There is much speculation as to what happened to Jaliek Rainwalker. Some people figure him to be a runaway...while the police have listed his adoptive father (Stephen Kerr) as a 'person of intrest' in Jaliek's disappearance.

Rilya Who?

Up until last night, I'd never heard the name Rilya Wilson. Rilya's name came up while I attended the blogtalk show,
Peas In Their Pods

Listen to PEAS IN THEIR PODS on internet talk radio

Now? Neither Rilya's name, nor her story will EVER be forgotten by me. Rilya's beautiful, innocent face will remain with the other names, faces, and stories that haunt my sleep.

Rilya was born Sept. 29, 1996, to a homeless cocaine addict. Ironically, Rilya's name was an acronym for "Remember I love you always." She was taken into state custody when she was less than 2 months old.

MIAMI --

A woman who was supposed to be taking care of Rilya Wilson, the foster child whose disappearance three years ago scandalized Florida's child-protection agency, was indicted Wednesday on charges of murdering the 4-year-old girl.

Geralyn Graham was also charged with kidnapping and three counts of aggravated child abuse in the case of the girl who was suffocated or beaten to death sometime in December 2000, the grand jury indictment said. No body has been found, the Miami-Dade County State Attorney's office said. Read More...
Former Caregiver Charged With Murdering Rilya Wilson

Geralyn Graham whispered the confession while they shared a cell in August, an informer awaiting a robbery trial says in court papers.
The caregiver charged with murdering foster child Rilya Wilson whispered "I killed it" to a jail cellmate and said she suffocated the 4-year-old because she "had demons," according to the inmate's account in court papers released Thursday.

Robin Lunceford said Geralyn Graham confessed to her and explained that she smothered Rilya with a pillow after Rilya insisted on wearing a Cleopatra costume - something Graham considered evil - for Halloween instead of an angel outfit as Graham wanted. Read More...

Tim Bottcher, a spokesman for the state agency said, ''We know we have folks who don't think we do a good job, and that's their opinion, but we are not necessarily going to respond every time someone says something.''

Kathleen Kearney, secretary of the agency, is not granting interviews, Mr. Bottcher said. In a news conference on Wednesday, she would not answer questions but read a statement in which she took responsibility for Rilya's disappearance.

She also accused a caseworker, Deborah Muskelly, of filing false reports of monthly visits with the girl and a supervisor, Willie Harris, of failing to review the case file.

Ms. Muskelly and Mr. Harris resigned under pressure last month for what the agency said was mishandling of another case. The agency would not provide details of that case, and the two workers could not be reached for comment.

Rilya was supposed to be in state custody, but the agency and her grandmother lost track of the girl for 15 months. They realized she was missing only last week, when a caseworker tried to check on the girl and did not find her at the grandmother's house. The grandmother and state agency each thought the other had custody of Rilya.

MIAMI — It's now been more than six years since foster child Rilya Wilson went missing, a disappearance that led to a shakeup at Florida's child welfare agency and murder charges against the little girl's former caretaker.
Yet Rilya's body has never been found and there's little physical evidence against the woman accused of abusing and killing her, 61-year-old Geralyn Graham.

It's nearing the year 2009, and of all the information I sifted through, there is one thing I could not find...
One single person to say "I am ashamed to admit it, but I am part of the reason that Rilya is still missing"

Not the child welfare agency who didn't notice the little girl missing for what? 15 months.
[Tim Bottcher, a spokesman for the state agency said, ''We know we have folks who don't think we do a good job, and that's their opinion, but we are not necessarily going to respond every time someone says something.'']

In THIS case, the problem seems to be that NOBODY said ANYTHING!

Geralyn & Pamela Graham, who the state (over) paid to take care of Rilya maintains their innocence.
[Pamela Graham supported allegations of abuse by Geralyn Graham, including claims that Graham tied Rilya to a bed and locked her in a small laundry room for lengthy periods as punishment for misbehavior.] *HERE

Even friends stood quietly by, until it was too late...
[Other friends and acquaintances reported similar incidents, as well as unusually numerous bruises, scratches and other injuries suffered by the girl.] *HERE

One friend even gave AID to this abusive situation!
[One friend, Detra Coakley, said she gave Geralyn Graham a dog cage with the understanding that Rilya would be kept inside it, though she's not sure if it ever happened.] *HERE

This is Kristen's mother and she is not a runaway. We found her missing and within 15 minutes some animal was texting from her phone saying that this B**** is done, telling us how she screams and other horrible things...and the police still wouldn't call it a kidnapping!! She was at a house directly across the street from Covedale Performing Arts Center. She was there with our family, walked outside and was GONE! Please pray for her and I hope someone saw something and has the nerve to come forward and help us find my baby!

Monday 4 the Missing ~Donna Jou~

Most people on the internet who promote awareness of the missing, recognize Donna Jou by her picture on the right.
What about her family though? How many pictures does the family that's been left behind to search, have of Donna?
Are there pictures of Donna taking her first steps, learning to ride a bicycle, or her first day of school? How many pictures celebrate Christmas, Birthdays, and other holidays over the years? From grade school to college, I am sure that there are many pictures throughout the home, that mark so many milestones! Are there enough pictures to fill a photo album? 2 albums?
Are there enough
pictures of Donna Jou and her family
to fill the void in her family's home, since she has gone missing? I don't think so!
Now, instead of snapping a picture of Donna celebrating her birthday this year, there's an online letter.
Happy Birthday, my precious Donna
Today is Tuesday, October 14, your birthday. I was blessed to have you for nineteen years. I always admired you for your intelligence, selflessness, kindness, and generosity. I will never forget the day you born.

I read the profile for Donna Jou, and just want to cry! This young lady had a bright future ahead of her. Unfortunatly, Donna was betrayed by one of her most beautiful characteristics. The desire to help others.

"When the police came, they took the laptop that Donna had been using to the crime lab," Reza said. "When they looked at it, they discovered that Donna had been corresponding with a man she [had] met on Craigslist [an Internet community for posting classified advertisements]."

According to Reza, Donna, an honor student at San Diego State University, had offered tutoring services on the Web site, and the man had contacted her in response to her advertisement.
"We really don't know how my daughter was convinced to meet him," Reza said. "The police found photos on the computer that the man had sent her, in which he looked to be about 20 years old."
Investigators traced the Internet messages to 35-year-old John Steven Burgess, aka Sinjin Stevens, a sex offender who had been convicted of performing a lewd act against a child, in 2003, and of three counts of battery, in 2002.

Cole Puffinger found safe, walking the streets!

Kathleen Hennessey,
Associated Press Writer –
1 hr 43 mins ago

LAS VEGAS – A 6-year-old boy kidnapped from a Las Vegas home by alleged drug dealers posing as policemen has been found alive in a neighborhood northeast of the Las Vegas Strip, police said early Sunday.

Cole Puffinburger was recovered at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday after a caller informed detectives about a child walking alone on a street in a middle-class neighborhood of tidy, modest-sized homes about 5 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, Las Vegas police Officer Jay Rivera said.

Authorities arrested Cole's grandfather Clemens Tinnemeyer late Friday in connection with the boy's disappearance. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that Tinnemeyer was Cole's maternal grandfather.

Police believe that the abductors were Mexican drug dealers and that the kidnapping at gunpoint was a "message" to Tinnemeyer, 51, whom they said may have stolen millions of dollars from dealers.

Tinnemeyer was arrested in Riverside, Calif., and was being held in nearby San Bernardino on a material witness warrant issued by a federal court in Nevada.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Six-year-old kidnapping victim Cole Puffinburger was safe in his father's custody Sunday, as police tried to untangle the child's family's ties to the Mexican drug dealers suspected in his abduction.

"We're speaking with the boy today. I know he's being interviewed by law enforcement, and we'll probably get a better idea of where he's been," FBI spokesman David Staretz said Sunday. Read More...

~Cole Puffinger~ Abduction connected to drug activity

By Mary Manning
Published Thu, Oct 16, 2008 (7:55 a.m.)
Updated Thu, Oct 16, 2008 (7:17 p.m.)

Metro Police on Thursday said the kidnapping of a 6-year-old boy from his home in the northeastern Las Vegas Valley a day earlier was linked to drug activity within the family.

The safety of Cole Puffinger, who was kidnapped at gunpoint shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday from his home on Cherry Grove Avenue, near the intersection Hollywood and Lake Mead boulevards, was the objective of the intense police activity.

An Amber Alert was issued for Cole at about noon Wednesday. The Amber Alert covers Southern Nevada, California, Arizona and New Mexico.

Cole is described as 3-foot-11 and weighing 48 pounds. He wears silver-rimmed prescription glasses and was last seen wearing a black John Cena WWE wrestling sweatshirt, dark jeans, a belt and Vans tennis shoes with a white stripe, police said.

Police are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious around the boy's home to call them at 828-3111. Anyone who sees Cole is urged to call 911.
Police say they are following tips from the public. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555. READ MORE...
Police: Boy’s kidnapping linked to drugs

The suspects ransacked the home after the mother and her boyfriend were both tied up and left helpless. "This child witnessed that," Cannito relates.

It's not clear if they found what they came for, but they wound up with another prize beyond price: the little boy. Cops say the men grabbed the 6-year-old and took him out of the house, disappearing from the neighbourhood. There's been no trace of him since but late Friday police revealed a stunning twist in the case.

They allege the boy's grandfather could be behind the incident. Fifty-one year-old Clemens F. Tinnemeyer hasn't been seen since September. READ MORE...

Amber Alert Criteria

Guidelines for Issuing AMBER Alerts

Every successful AMBER plan contains clearly defined activation criteria. The following guidance is designed to achieve a uniform, interoperable network of plans across the country, and to minimize potentially deadly delays because of confusion among varying jurisdictions. The following are criteria recommendations:

Law Enforcement Confirms an Abduction
AMBER plans require law enforcement to confirm an abduction prior to issuing an alert. This is essential when determining the level of risk to the child. Clearly, stranger abductions are the most dangerous for children and thus are primary to the mission of an AMBER Alert....

Risk of Serious Bodily Injury or Death
Plans require a child be at risk for serious bodily harm or death before an alert can be issued. This element is clearly related to law enforcement’s recognition that stranger abductions represent the greatest danger to children....
Sufficient Descriptive Information
For an AMBER Alert to be effective in recovering a missing child, the law enforcement agency must have enough information to believe that an immediate broadcast to the public will enhance the efforts of law enforcement to locate the child and apprehend the suspect....

Age of Child
Every state adopt the “17 years of age or younger” standard; or....

NCIC Data Entry
Immediately enter AMBER Alert data into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) system. Text information describing the circumstances surrounding the abduction of the child should be entered, and the case flagged as a Child Abduction....

Guidlines for issuing Amber Alert

~MY 2 CENTS~

Parental abductions occur FAR more frequently than a stranger abduction.
Interesting Statistics ~NCMEC~
HOW can we as parents, who know firsthand how much of a struggle it is to get ANY media involvement, counselor intervention, or financial help due to a parental abduction, change the public perception? Even AMBER ALERT makes a parental abduction sound less than it is!
TWICE on the same page AMBER ALERT clearly states that a stranger abduction is more dangerous to a child than a parental abduction.
PLEASE explain THAT to CAYLEE ANTHONY and GIOVANNI GONZALEZ.

Stephen:
I wrote a poem in memory of all missing people and I thought I would share it with you.
No more do we hear your sweet laughter,
Yet we hope to see you smile once more,
You floated away on an unknown breeze
We miss the sparkle of your eyes,
But your memory will always linger,
You vanished in body but you never left us,
You are still in our hearts
And in our thoughts, from
The orchestra of birds to the sleepy night,
Floating away from us on breezes we do not know,
Wherever you are in this vast Earth,
No matter how many rivers you cross,
No matter how many roads you walk on,
Still in our hearts forever
Our beloved, our treasure.

The protesters, one of which was dressed as Plywood Man and the other clad in a red and blue Spider-Man superhero costume, were expressing their disapproval with what they perceive as Layton's opposition to divorced or separated dads having equal access to their kids.
BEACH: Bizarre protest at Layton's constituency office

Dressed up as "Cash Gordon" and "Captain Conception" Fathers 4 Justice activists, Mark Harris and Jolly Stanesby, from Devon, unfurled a banner from the top of Harriet Harman's house reading, "A father is for life, not just conception".
Fathers 4 Justice strike again!
Man held over Harman roof protest

Donald Tenn is a California father who says he “had to take action” for his young daughter Madison. He started his fourth day this morning on a wet construction crane in Columbus Ohio alone. Last night police warned of thunderstorms. John Fowler, national coordinator for Fathers 4 Justice was able to talk activist father Paul Fisher down.

Take time to read read some of the response to this on Current!

Why are these Super Hero Dads on ~LostFaces~ of the Missing? After all, obviously a lot of people know exactly where they are!
But they are missing ... from their children's lives.
Does that mean that the children are missing too? If you are following what it is I'm trying to say here, then you should be nodding your head, saying "Yeah, they are ... these children are missing from their fathers lives!"

A few months ago, I came across the site
Children Need Both Parents
From there, I started ghosting around some different sites. To be honest, at first I found some of the names quite intimidating, as I am in the same position, yet wearing much smaller shoes. (psstt...that just means I'm a chic, not a dude)
F4J~Fathers 4 Justice and
F.R.A.M.E.D. Fathers are only 2 out of many groups that are trying to take back what should never have been removed to begin with....Their right to just be a DAD.

Monday 4 the Missing ~Tom Starkel~

Tom Starkel was a very special young man in my life who disppeared off the face of the earth back in Dec. 1979, Its been a very long time but I've never given up hope of finding him justice!!! someone out there knows what happen that night..
I found the above message posted on
Missing Pieces Official Message Board
That's almost 30 years Missing! A lot can happen in a 30 year span. People wed, and/or have children. Some make their fortune, while others loose everything. Time just moves on along, as usual. At least time moves forward for some people.
For others, time is nothing more than a standstill limbo. Sure, they go through the motions of being here, 'in the now.' Yet in reality, they are faced with that one haunting question... and in Hollyjean's case, her question for almost 30 years has been "What Happened to Tom Starkel?"

Vital Statistics
Date Of Birth: July 15, 1960
Age at Time of Disappearance: 19 years old
Height and Weight at Time of Disappearance: 5'6"; 150 lbs.
Distinguishing Characteristics: White male. Blond hair; green eyes.
Clothing: Tan sweater and brown corduroy pants.

If you have any information concerning this case, please contact:
Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department 323-526-5541
Agency Case Number: 079124061
NCIC Number:M-648165993
The Doe Network

Details of Disappearance
Starkel was last seen leaving his girlfriend's home in Palmdale, California on December 5, 1979. Authorities believe he did arrive at his own apartment afterwards, but he has never been heard from again. Starkel was driving a dark green Pontiac Firebird with Nevada license plates at the time of his disappearance. His vehicle was recovered two weeks later, when it was pulled over driving into California from Nevada. Another individual was driving the vehicle and there was no sign of Starkey. The person was arrested and held for about two weeks, but eventually released for lack of evidence connecting him to Starkey's disappearance. Starkey's case remains unsolved.
The Charley Project

I've been sifting through google, looking for whatever information I can find about Tom. One thing that has me a bit puzzled is the fact that Tom disappeared without a trace, and someone else was found driving his vehicle. (arrested then later released due to lack of evidence) YET when I view .state.ca.us/ Tom is listed as a Voluntary Missing Adult?
Missing Person

Other than a few sites, such as The Charley Project and The Doe Network, there really isn't much information out there about Tom. He's not on
North American Missing Persons, a sister site of The Doe Network, or the National Center for Missing Adults.

What I see is one dedicated Hollyjean, posting on every missing person's forum she can find...in hopes of having that one question answered...What happened to Tom Starkel?

A touch of ~Myspace Magic~

Yeah I know, 'Myspace Magic' does not sound like a post on missing children or missing persons, and there's a reason behind that.
It's not.
Something unexpected happened the other week.
I recieved one of those infamous friend requests from someone on Myspace.
Nooo, that's not the unexpected part!
I admit, I am behind on the 1,000 friends or bust contest,
but still ... thats not what changed todays course.
Anyway, I usually prefer to do a bit of investigating before I hit the 'accept' button, so I bounced on over to the invitee's profile, to check out what their page represents. What I saw on that profile not only surprised me,

Cancer awareness bracelet

It's why I'm writing what I am right now.
Ok ... big deal, right? A few colorful 'Show Your Support Ribbons' that represent the various types of cancer. And, perhaps that is true ...
UNTIL I saw some of the faces and read some of the stories that these ribbons represent.
And thats just what happened next!

You have to watch this Logan is proof that god answers prayers, He is a true mircle, a gift from god. The doctors at one point gave up on him but thanks to all the prayers from his family and his myspace friends just look at him now, he is such a little fighter. He gets stronger and better everyday. We're so proud of him.

James and Daddy Myspace Page

Why the one million friends challenge I get asked the questions,
Why 1 million friends? What will it achieve? on a regular basis so i
thought i would try to explain. James and I used to come onto myspace to
listen to music and look at the videos just before he was diagnosed and added
a few friends. When James was diagnosed and we came to terms with the fact that
his cancer and its treatment was going to take over our lives we needed a distraction and the "James and Daddy" page was born.

James and Daddy say Thank you

We have passed the 250,000 friends mark. We are a quarter of the way to the million. This page started out as a quest for a dad to keep a promise to his son but has grown to become so much more than that. It has become a global community of friendship, love and believe with a little boy at its very centre.

As a dad I thank every single one of you for bringing the world to James doorstep and teaching him that the world is a wonderful place. We have received so much support and love and friendship and it has helped us grow stronger as a family.

So this is to say thank you and we will keep the momentum going and we hope to bring you more episodes in James future and share him with the world.
THANKYOU SO MUCH

Elijah & Isaiah's Myspace Page

this site started out as my personal page and now has become more like an outreach for me and others families.
my goal now is to spread awareness to those who have sick kids or to someone who may have the cancer elijah did. his was a very rare form called plueropulmonary blastoma.
he had 1/3 of his upper right lung removed and recieved 36 weeks of chemotherapy.
i am truly blessed that God has healed them both of their lung problems. we still fight to keep them healthy but you have that for even the healthy kids anyway. i cannot complain.
elijah has been cancer free for a year and isaiah we just have to watch him closely when he gets a cold cause he prone to respiratory failure and bronchitis.
they were both born 6 weeks premature.

I don't have a big head over this and I don't think of myself as being above anyone else.
I have been doing this for several years and I just love to entertain. I feel at home on stage where you can do things you can never do in a recording studio.
If I can touch someone and make them smile, forget their problems if only for a little while, then I have done well.

Hold On To Your Faith
by Steven Davis Jr.
I wrote this song about real life, not the usual fairy tale where everything is a Dream.
I have seen all of this tragedy on mysapce, the television and all around me for years.
I was just inspired to write a song about real life and the Faith that one must have to
keep going. This is real life and we must help one another get though the next day,
not turn our heads and we must keep our Faith that We will walk with Jesus everyday of
our lives. I wrote the lyrics in sorrow but I Pray for some comfort to those that have
this tragedy in their life. God Bless You All.
Steven Jr.'s Myspace Page

If you are a member of the Myspace community, I encourage you to visit some of these profiles. I am sure you understand why some of them are not public, but it only takes a minute to use that cute little 'add as friend' button. As you have read, James has quite a few friends already, but needs many more to meet his 'million friend challenge'...so add him, please!
Also, if you really want to know more, take time to visit some of the various care pages. These children and their smiles have a way of reaching out and touching your heart!

*I would like to take a minute to thank the families of Brookelynn, James, Elija, and Logan for allowing me into Their Space & for taking the time to answer some of my questions, when I know you probably have a thousand unanswered ones of your own. I appreciate the willingness to invite me into the different carepages. I admire each of you for the ability to share of yourself, I can't imagine that it's always easy to do.

Also, thank you Steven, For taking time to answer my email. I know you have a hectic schedule.
I notice that you visit your buddies, and leave them small notes. Awesome! Thank you for using your talent for the benefit of children.
Your Space is tenanted by best buddies, abuse awareness, missing children, and predator awareness ... highly unusual for a Music Profile!
If I ever took the time to 'categorize' my friends list, I believe I'd have to add every one of you in a category I'd call 'People of Subtle Greatness.'

Prayers,
mammabear

Family Asks For Help In Finding Missing Man
(Link to video)

But so far, there is very little to go on. Johnson's vehicle was discovered parked outside his car lot. But, he was nowhere to be found. It's a mystery as to exactly what happened.

"I really don't know. But, it could be foul play. They found his show and hat in the trunk of the car, but I don't know what happened."

So, police and family members want you to take a look at his picture, hoping someone who saw or knows something will come forward.

"I want people to know that he always helped people. He helped a lot of people. He would help anybody who needed him."

Family members believe Ray is still alive and possibly being held against his will. Anyone with information should call 425-6610. A reward is being offered in the amount of $15,000.
