Monday 4 the Missing ~Donna Jou~

Most people on the internet who promote awareness of the missing, recognize Donna Jou by her picture on the right.
What about her family though? How many pictures does the family that's been left behind to search, have of Donna?
Are there pictures of Donna taking her first steps, learning to ride a bicycle, or her first day of school? How many pictures celebrate Christmas, Birthdays, and other holidays over the years? From grade school to college, I am sure that there are many pictures throughout the home, that mark so many milestones! Are there enough pictures to fill a photo album? 2 albums?
Are there enough
pictures of Donna Jou and her family
to fill the void in her family's home, since she has gone missing? I don't think so!
Now, instead of snapping a picture of Donna celebrating her birthday this year, there's an online letter.
Happy Birthday, my precious Donna
Today is Tuesday, October 14, your birthday. I was blessed to have you for nineteen years. I always admired you for your intelligence, selflessness, kindness, and generosity. I will never forget the day you born.

I read the profile for Donna Jou, and just want to cry! This young lady had a bright future ahead of her. Unfortunatly, Donna was betrayed by one of her most beautiful characteristics. The desire to help others.

"When the police came, they took the laptop that Donna had been using to the crime lab," Reza said. "When they looked at it, they discovered that Donna had been corresponding with a man she [had] met on Craigslist [an Internet community for posting classified advertisements]."

According to Reza, Donna, an honor student at San Diego State University, had offered tutoring services on the Web site, and the man had contacted her in response to her advertisement.
"We really don't know how my daughter was convinced to meet him," Reza said. "The police found photos on the computer that the man had sent her, in which he looked to be about 20 years old."
Investigators traced the Internet messages to 35-year-old John Steven Burgess, aka Sinjin Stevens, a sex offender who had been convicted of performing a lewd act against a child, in 2003, and of three counts of battery, in 2002.

Beautiful perspective of this beautiful missing young woman. Families never give up, never.

I know what it's like to leave a birthday wish online for someone you love, and miss.
It hurts. It's like a mix of hope combined with emptiness. (Hope that the letter is found by the intended recipient, with the emptiness of an unanswered letter.)
I pray that this family receives an answer!
You are right, Delilah...we NEVER give up!
