Skepticism on confession
(Giovanni Gonzalez Update)
By Maria Sacchetti
November 26, 2008
"I know where he is," Gonzalez said in Spanish, his voice calm and his gaze flat. "My son isn't alive. He's dead."
Asked why he did it, Gonzalez said that it just "happened."
"I didn't want to kill my son," he said. "I don't know what happened in that moment." He said he loved his son and is "regretful."
The extraordinary confession was met with skepticism by authorities, who have yet to find evidence in the apartment that would corroborate Gonzalez's account. The interview followed months of reticence on the part of Gonzalez, who refused to cooperate with investigators, barely spoke during brief court hearings on a child endangerment charge, and declined the tearful overtures from Giovanni's mother to please reveal the whereabouts of her only son.
Father confesses to killing his 5-Year- old son
Usually I prefer to hear the truth, but just this once, I can't help but think, "Damn, I hope he's Lying!"

Reward Offered ~Travis Lee Baker~
From Cue Center
For immediate release...
The Family of Travis Baker and CUE Center for Missing Persons offer a new
Reward in an effort to locate the missing youth. Travis Lee Baker was last seen in Catawba County, North Carolina on April 16, 2007; approximately early to mid day. He and his vehicle, a candy apple red 1998 camero with a NC tag number WRP8627, have simply vanished. Baker has three tattoos, his last name in capital letters across his back, the name “Hallie” on his chest and red & black tribal band on his upper left and right arm arm.
Now, his family is offering a cash reward that will run for ten days, in hope that someone will step forward and just tell them where they can find their son.
The $2,000.00 reward offer will begin November 25th at midnight and run for ten days straight ending on December 5th of 2008.
No strings, no questions asked. “I hope that someone will call the authorities or the CUE Center and end our nightmare; we are so worn out over all of this”, said the father of Travis, Dwayne Baker.
In the past year the Baker family along with the CUE Center for Missing Persons, family friends, law officials and the community have conducted searches, held benefits and public awareness campaigns (local and nationally), erected billboards, the list goes on, all in an effort to gain information and ultimately to bring Travis home. To date, Travis remains missing along with his vehicle.
“It is frustrating not only for the family but all who have given so much to aid in finding the answers”, said CUE Founder, Monica Caison. “Families of the missing should not have to go through this, but until people do the right thing and truly help, we must continue to push forward until there are answers. I am hoping this holiday season will provide this family with the one wish they have, to find their son”, she added.

Three children reported missing in September 2007 from Eureka Springs, Ark., are believed to be in the Boone or Asheville area.
The children, twins Anna and Hopi Gray, 5, and their brother, Washoo Holderfield, 1, were reportedly abducted by their noncustodial mother, Rebecca Christian, 36.
In a press release Monday, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children case manager Phyllis O'Brien said there are strong indications that Christian would return to the area.
Both Anna and Hopi have brown hair and blue eyes and would be approximately 3 feet tall. They will turn 6 years old on Nov. 18. Very little identifying information is available for the youngest child, Washoo. He was six months old at the time of the abduction. Read More...

CPS!!! GIVE THAT BABY BACK!!!
I am angry when I find garbage like the following story, as it questions the posts I read from *cough sputter cough* caring, loving CPS workers who claim that they do EVERYTHING they can, to reunify a family, and return children to their homes.
A Paradise father is speaking out for the first time since his wife abandoned their baby boy at a Chico golf course this week. His wife remains under treatment at Butte County Mental Health. But Butte County's Children's Services has yet to return his 9-month-old son. The man, who we will only identify as Joe, says "I will work for the rest of my life to get my son back."
Father Fights to Get His Son Returned
CPS is trying to terminate the fathers rights, due to what mom has done??? Adopting this child is the ONLY solution???
CPS!!!GIVE THAT BABY BACK!!!
And while you are at it, you should REIMBURSE Dad for every red cent(blood money)that you cost him to fight for his parental rights!

Why we do what we do!
(Precious Doe)
Why We Do What We Do
Never Forget Mya Lyons
I can't read about the senseless murder of a beautiful, promising, 9 year old little girl, and remain objective. I find myself in tears...I can almost hear and feel moms heart wrenching cries during Mya's funeral.
Mya’s mother, Ericka Barnes, could barely make it down the aisle by herself to see her daughter who had a tiara on her head and was dressed in pink. She had pink flowers and a Barbie doll laying by her side inside of a white casket trimmed in pink.
Barnes could be heard outside of the sanctuary as she walked into Monument of Faith church where the funeral was held, stomping her feet and screaming, “No! No! My baby! No!” as “Jesus Loves the Little Children” played in the background.
As of yet, nobody is quite sure what happened the night of July 14, 2008.
Other than mentioning that this is an ongoing investigation, I don't really want to discuss the gory details. These details have already been all over the news in the last few months, so if you really need to read the details, you can google it!
The word drumming in my head right now is
J-U-S-T-I-C-E.
Noun
justice (plural justices)
The state of being just or fair.
The ideal of fairness, esp. with regard to the punishment of wrongdoing.
justice was served
punishment of a person who wronged one
to demand justice
The civil power dealing with law.
Ministry of Justice
the justice system
Acording to family members, Mya loved math and reading, and was an honor student in her elementary school. It seems as if Mya was entering an 'in-between transition.' She still loved to play with barbies, jump ropes, and ride her bike, yet was looking forward to her first cell phone for her birthday. A birthday that was stolen!
HOW do you find justice for a young girl who's life was stolen without care?
Would a life sentence in jail bring justice to a child, who had the whole world before her?
How can an 'ideal of fairness' erase the last moments Mya's father had with his daughter?
"Richard Lyons has cooperated fully and voluntarily with the police investigation from the very beginning. He has participated, without benefit of an attorney, in several interviews with the police detectives," Blumenthal said. "Richard, as well as other family members, voluntarily gave the police DNA samples at their request."
Lyons says he just wants continue the grieving process in peace.
Richard Lyons has not been charged with any crime and police have not called him a suspect or a person of interest in the murder of his daughter.
I PRAY that this is the truth, as I am going against the seemingly standard
'make them prove their innocence, and ruin their life until then'
reporting format.
Is there a 'fair punishment' equal to the amount of pain a mother must feel, when her six year old son asks when his sister is coming home?
She has no answer when Mya's brother asks where his sister has gone or when she's coming home. She lets the 6-year-old boy sleep with the "Princess" pillow, the one with Mya's photograph on it. She winces when her son sees a toy in a store that he thinks Mya might like and pleads with her to buy it.
The murder of little Mya Lyons has affected family, friends, and communtiy. Neighbors are insecure and torn apart, not knowing who it was that committed such an unspeakable crime.
I don't think there is any amount of punishment in this world that will ever right these wrongs! I don't believe that punishment equals justice.
Punishment is just a form of resolution.
Don't get me wrong, whoever murdered Mya should pay dearly...
I'm just saying that the murderer behind bars, STILL don't tip the scales in favor of Justice for Mya.
Justice for Mya is the community becoming closer and working together to make sure this does not happen to more innocent children, instead of allowing this tragedy to rip it apart.
Afterwards, Kublai Toure, executive director of Amer-I-Can Ill., a life management skills organization, said the community needs to start talking.
"It's time to stop professional lip service and time for real action. Real men need to step up. This is our responsibility. Somebody on this block knows who did this. We have to stop this foolishness," Toure said, making his own plea for justice.
As you sit down to Thanksgiving dinner next week, please take a minute to think about Mya and her family. They have just been robbed one of their most precious gifts, and I highly doubt that Thanksgiving this year will be a festive one. As you bow your heads, please take the time to include this grieving family in your prayers.
True Justice is to

Idaho has 80 missing adults at any one time, which is approximately 44% of Idaho's total missing!. Nationally, there are approximately 47,842 missing adults entered into the National Crime Information Center database. There are many more adults who may be missing, but not entered into any database. The Idaho Missing Persons Clearinghouse focuses equally on missing children as well as missing adults.
Though the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children located in Alexandria, VA is federally funded to act as the national clearinghouse for children, comparable services for missing adults have never existed.
Idaho Missing Adults
Jeramy Burt is one of those persons missing on this list!
Missing since February 11, 2007, Jeramy was last seen in the 2200 block of Hervey Street in Boise, Idaho.
Visiting the Myspace page dedicated to Jeramy, I see yet another mother's desperate search for her son.
Reading through different articles, I read that Jeramy's family dosen't believe he would have just walked out on his own business, or his soon-to-be 4 year old daughter.
A text message from Jeramy's phone to his ex-wife shortly after he vanished stated that he was making plans to disappear, moving to a new address, and getting a new life.
In May 2007, Jeramy's burned out car was found in the Idaho Desert.
About 45 miles north of the Nevada border, in an extremely remote area, a cowboy found the burned-out remains of the car Burt was driving -- his ex-wife's Mercury Cougar.
The Owyhee County Sheriff's Office says someone was trying to hide something, but not necessarily something sinister.
But Burt’s sister and father seem convinced their loved one was killed.

With all of the above information, does any of it truly indicate WHO Brandy Renee Hanna really is?
After reading Brandy's profile, I googled for more information. SOMETHING that would tell me WHO Brandy is.
Clicking on The Brandy Hanna Website,
I read the following:
Please take the time to explore this website and get to know Brandy, and her family.
Did YOU know that her favorite soft drink was Mello Yello? OK...I have to admit, I'm a Pepsi kind of person, but to each their own!
Brandy loved cats and dogs, chicken nuggets, and scary movies.
I see a T-shirts she wears in one of her pictures, and can't help but think, "Ok, I used to listen to Skid Row too!" I read how Brandy had only a small circle of friends, and I again relate. Brandy is only a few years younger than I am!

They will light candles, release balloons and silently wonder once again what happened that led them to this sad ceremony.
It has become, unfortunately, a regular event.
On May 20, 2005, Hanna disappeared from her North Charleston apartment.
Since that time, there have been no answers, no leads, no clues — nothing but the vigils. And Donna Parent, Brandy's mother, always dreads it.
"It's not something you want to do," Parent said, "it's something I have to do. If I don't remind people she's missing, I'm afraid they'll forget."
Monica Caison, director of the CUE Center for Missing Persons, said these things do more than just provide comfort for the families of missing adults, they sometimes stir up witnesses.
"It does happen," Caison said. "There's somebody out there they haven't reached, somebody who hasn't realized they've seen something."
It is all the hope Brandy's family and North Charleston police have these days. Investigators have learned little beyond what they knew from the first.
On the day she vanished, Brandy worked her shift at Alex's Restaurant on Dorchester Road, got a ride to her apartment and talked to her mother on the phone in the early evening. She had big plans for the weekend — shopping Friday, the beach Saturday, breakfast with her mother and brother Sunday. But sometime that evening, the 32-year-old walked out of her apartment, leaving her money, her clothes, her entire life, behind.
Parent said after three years she still struggles with the questions, but deals with it as best she can, working and spending time with her grandchildren. But every day she wonders.
"I know in my heart there's got to be one person who could break this open," Parent said. "I wish they knew how important it could be to one family's life."

Rest In Peace ~Janine Todt~
11/11/2008
A badly decomposed body was found Monday in a wooded area off Moselem Church Road in Richmond Township, authorities said.
The skeletal remains could not be immediately identified, according to Terri L. Straka, Berks County deputy coroner.
Straka said she could not determine if the body was male or female.
An autopsy will be performed today in Reading Hospital, she said.
Fleetwood police are investigating, Chief Ray Nester said.
Fragments of clothing were found at the scene, he said.
"They're probably going to have to use dental records to identify the body," Nester said.
Hunters discovered the body in a heavily wooded area about 300 yards off the 100 block of Moselem Church Road, Nester said.
In August, Janine M. Todt, 42, whose residence is in the 200 block of Moselem Church Road, was reported missing in the area, Nester said. She had not been found as of Monday.
At the time, Fleetwood police reported that Todt suffered from a sleeping disorder and walked in the area near her home at night.
Volunteer firefighters and police, including K-9 units and officers on horseback, called off the search after combing the area for several days.

Autopsy confirms that the remains found on Monday are indeed those of Janine Todt.
A body found in a wooded area off Moselem Church Road in Richmond Township was identified Wednesday as that of a 43-year-old township woman who had been reported missing three months ago, officials in the Berks County coroner's office said.
The skeletal remains of Janine Todt were found by hunters Monday on the property of Moselem Springs Golf Club, authorities said.
After an autopsy failed to identify the remains, the coroner's office called in a forsenics expert to make the identification using dental records, Coroner Dennis J. Hess said.
The cause and manner of Todt's death have not yet been determined, Hess said. He said his office has ordered further tests as part of the investigation.
Fleetwood police also are continuing to investigate.
Todt, who had lived nearby in the 200 block of Moselem Church Road, had been reported missing in August.
At the time, police said she suffered from a sleeping disorder and walked in the area near her home at night.
Body found in Richmond Township identified as that of missing woman
Author: Chris Skipper
Date: 8/19/08
On Sunday August 10 Station 33 was alerted to Richmond Township in the area of Schwoyer and Moselem Church Roads to search for a missing person. Upon arrival it was discovered that a 42 year old female, Janine Todt, was missing. She had left the home that she was staying at early that morning. Station 33 requested assistance from other area companies including Walnuttown, Fleetwood, Kutztown, Kempton, Fleetwood Ambulance and Goodwill Fire Company of Hyde Park. A large amount of help and resources was also given by Middle Creek Search and Rescue, Station 1-14 from Lancaster County. Food was also provided by the Salvation Army and numerous other volunteers assisted. The search lasted all day Sunday and part of Monday, and the missing person was never found. The search was coordinated using ATV patrols, road patrols, search dogs, and horses. The Virginville Fire Company would like to thank all of the assisting companies, assisting organizations, and assisting individuals for their help. If anyone has any information regarding the whereabouts of Janine Todt, please contact the Fleetwood Police Department at 610-944-7011.

Some might think that at least now there is some closure for the searching family. To be honest, I don't believe there really is a total 'closure.'
Instead, there's a family left behind, seeking for ways to cope with the pain caused by the unexpected loss of a loved one.

It’s been nearly a year since 21-year-old Dylan Koshman disappeared from his south Edmonton home after an argument with his cousin.
But his family still holds out hope that he will one day be found.
“Police suspected they would find Dylan by spring. And when bodies turned up, we were on a rollercoaster ride of emotion. When none of them turned out to be Dylan, hope was still high,” said his mother Melanie Alix, who returned to Edmonton over the weekend organizing another search for her son.
