? Who Murdered ~William Tillett~

$50,000 Reward

The City of Inglewood is Offering a $50,000 Reward for information leading to the identification, apprehension, and conviction of the persons responsible for the murder of William Tillett (pictured at right)

On Thursday, May 24, 1990, eleven year old William Tillett was abducted after leaving Bennett-Kew Elementary School located at 11851 S. Yukon Avenue. It was determined that William Tillett walked eastbound on 118th Street, northbound on Simms Avenue, then eastbound on Imperial Highway en route to his home in the area of Hudspeth Street and Spinning.

William was last seen alive at about 3:00 p.m. in the area of what was then Thrifty Drug Store located at Imperial Highway and Crenshaw Boulevard.

At approximately 10:00 p.m. that same evening, William's body was discovered to the rear of 4079 W. 138th Street in the City of Hawthorne. A silver or gray Datsun 280Z was seen fleeing the apartment complex shortly before William's body was found. This vehicle was occupied by two male blacks in their mid-twenties. A red bookbag/backpack was found at the Hawthorne Mall the day following the discovery of William Tillett's body.

The Inglewood Police Department requests the help of anyone with information regarding this tragic murder. Any information provided by any witnesses will be held in strict confidentiality.
